We have been leaning about fractions of a set and how to create pictures using fractions. This is a work in progress but it is getting easier.

In this picture there are 10 presents and I have colored in 2/10 yellow, 3/10 Red 5/10 purple. There are 4/5 kids with party hats on 1/5 with not. With the balloons there are 2/12 blue 6/12 yellow 4/12 green.

  1. Hello Rocky-James.This is a way better way of doing maths rather than writing work into a book.We didn't have computers when I went to Primary School. All our work was in a book using a pencil.I like that you have told us a sentence or 2 about your work.Well done.

  2. Hello Rocky James! My name is Parwin and I am a year 8 from Yaldhurst Model School!

I really liked your drawing that you made because it was colourful and you had some great drawings and images inserted as well. The fact that you have also explained the reason why the fraction is that is also great to see. From reading your blog post, I can tell that you understand how to make fractions and what they mean as well.

This reminds me of when I was learning about fractions and it wasn't too long ago except our fractions and activities were harder than yours. I know that my group, first had trouble but they then got the hang of it. Something I had found tricky was when we had to add and subtract. The easiest was multiplying.

I think that to improve, maybe you could change the background or make your blog post a bit more exciting and eye catching for the readers or other bloggers.

Sometimes, you can simplify things like 2/10 and turn it to 1/5 because they can both be divided by 2. They don't always have to divided by 2, like 4/12, you can divide it by 4 and then get 1/3. Sometimes, you can't simplify it at all like 4/5 because it doesn't have anything in common.

    Awesome work!

Looking forward to your next posts,
    Parwin

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
